Dinas Powys Voluntary Concern (DPVC)

Dinas Powys Voluntary Concern  provides a service to individuals, groups and to many of the fifty or so voluntary organisations operating in Dinas Powys.  In particular it aims to support and improve the quality of life of the elderly and people with mobility problems.  This service is achieved by:

  • providing a Community Resource Centre
  • acting as a port of call for individuals seeking specialist help or advice
  • running a Good Neighbour Scheme
  • recruiting and supporting volunteers
  • providing and maintaining a specially adapted minibus/ambulance for regular shopping trips and for use by other associated local organisations
  • providing transport for appointments at surgeries, hairdressers etc for the elderly
  • publishing and delivering Depend, a free bi-annual newsletter, to every household in Dinas Powys
  • organising fundraising events
  • providing photocopying, desktop publishing, laminating and other services at a reasonable price

Dinas Powys Voluntary Concern is always looking for new ways in which to serve the community, and for new volunteers.
